OUR COMMUNITY
Nomad Health Initiative exists to solve the deep inequities in healthcare access for last mile nomadic communities in Northern Kenya.

Target pastoralist populations face chronic exclusion due to mobility, insecurity, climate shocks, and weak, often unresponsive health systems—resulting in low immunization rates, poor maternal and child health outcomes, and limited access to critical primary healthcare services.
At the heart of our work are last-mile nomadic communities, particularly pastoralist mothers, infants, and youth in North Horr and Moyale. We also work with traditional male leaders, community health workers, and local champions who make our mission possible. We walk alongside them — not just to deliver care, but to co-create solutions rooted in trust, tradition, and local insight. From mothers seeking vaccines for their children to elders guiding our mobile outreach routes, our community is both the reason and the driver behind everything we do.
